James Bradley

About

A singer songwriter, music teacher and music based therapist, James Bradley hails from south Derry in a small town called Glen.

He's been writing songs since he was 18 and when he quit his job as a manager in Tesco in 2016, he decided to pursue a career in music full time at the age of 35.

His debut album was released in September 2018 after he travelled to Nashville to record in Southern Ground Zac Brown Bands Studio, and play the Famous BlueBird cafe. A definite career highlight for him.

Sadly, his 8 yr old son Daniel passed away as a result of a road traffic accident a week after the debut album release. As a result, he put music on hold for some time. He penned a number of songs for his son and to help deal with the grief he was experiencing and he found music again in 2019.

This return to music found him back in the studio and in 2020 he released Back To Being Me, a collaborative Ep of 5 songs featuring the many talents of local musicians and singers, Paul Casey, John McCullough, Liam Bradley, Nicki Scott, Paul Cuttliffe and Lauren
Doherty.

He recorded his second Album with friends, a collaboration with local Castledawson singer, Danny Devlin and Paul Casey. These songs are a collection of folk songs and Americana country style with influences from Counting Crows and Zac Brown as well as Luke Combs and Darrell Scott.

His earlier songs have been written from experience, trauma, family, love, loss, happiness and blessings. These days his style encompasses writing about other people, fiction and stories about people where he can decide what path their story takes.
